Insurance Policy
1 Psychiatry, P.C. accepts some health insurances though not all. Individuals whose insurance is not accepted may make arrangement with the practice to pay cash for their visit. The practice does request pending payment to be paid in full prior to the individual’s next appointment.
1 Psychiatry, P.C. believes that by cutting out the middle man (health insurance), it can provide for a more personalized level of care meaning same day access, crisis appointment, email access as in concierge psychiatric practice. The practice currently has patients who have chosen to pay cash to avoid their insurance determining when or how often they can see their psychiatrist.
Same Day Appointments
Depending on the need of the individual patient, we may be able to offer Initial Psychiatric Consultation the same day or within 48 hours of such a request.
At your initial consultation, Dr. Patra will spend an hour with you getting to know you and your concerns. He will prioritize your concerns and address those with you. He may request neuropsychiatric evaluation where appropriate. Genetic testing may be recommended to get a detailed diagnostic report.

My Philosophy
I strongly believe in the concept of Being There For My Patients. In my private practice I strive to achieve this by giving appointments based on the needs of the patients & even seeing them beyond my regular office hours if they are in a crisis situation.
My Approach
The treatment plan for my patients is based on their unique individuality & I manage them with medications, intravenous Ketamine, ECT, cognitive behavior therapy & most importantly by paying attention to what they are saying & their body language. I see & hear what my patients are saying or not saying.
My Goal
My private practice is designed to create a Healing Experience for my patients. This begins from the moment the patient steps into a relaxing ambiance at the office & is greeted with a warm smile. The patients are encouraged to think of us as partners in their mental health. This means the relationship does not begin & end with an office visit but is supplemented by other forms of communication like email and video chat.
